For over sixty years, the Flying Fish Fleet has provided Sarasota fishing charters to anglers from all over world. The fleet of three boats offer our customers a complete range of offshore fishing opportunities on the beautiful Gulf of Mexico. Our friendly experienced crew work tirelessly to provide the best possible deep sea fishing experience to everyone from first time fishing families to the experienced angler.
Big Catch is our offshore 43’ Hatteras private charter boat. She carries up to 6 guests, includes a full line of custom fishing tackle, and is professionally staffed by both a captain and mate for the ultimate private charter fishing experience.

Alex took us to a new secret spot where we got our limit of Grouper (12 for the 6 of us,) in record time! We also pulled 39 Lane Snappers! Lots of good eatin' fish! It was a MARVELOUS day in the Gulf!!!

Alex and Brice not only did what most guides do, but they went far and above expectations. They coached and assisted me which I found extremely helpful. Plus, their efforts yielded a great catch. Four of the six had never experienced this type of fishing and really enjoyed themselves. The crew was very patient and took time to teach them. Warren Lanphear2024-03-03Four of us kept 32 fish on a 6.5 hour trip this week. The guides were great - very helpful and friendly. The boat needs to be cleaned, especially the bathrooms.

Michelle Hughes2024-02-27My husband was gifted by his wife (Me 😊) on his 73rd birthday with a fishing trip. Truthfully, I wasn't looking forward to 6 hours fishing on a boat, but it turned out to be a fantastic day!!! I thought it was a perfect balance of riding and fishing. Others probably wanted more fishing time. The mates were fantastic and worked their butts off and were friendly in doing it. Melanie was super nice on the phone with reservations and again during the boat trip...great PR person. We understood little of what the captain was saying over the speaker, but we figured out the basics of what we were supposed to be doing. The fishing spots were fairly good and everybody seemed to end up with a decent catch. Only negative was getting our fish fileted...that took well over an hour waiting and the older gentlemen ( the captain?) didn't seem real friendly who was doing it. The overall experience was good and we look forward to doing it again.

For your safety, we continue to bleach all our boat surfaces after every trip. For the safety of the passengers and crew we ask that if you are not feeling well to please reschedule your trip for a future date.
Our crew works primarily for tips. As in restaurants, a 20% gratuity is customary for good service & greatly appreciated by our crew. Their jobs are hard. They are working from 2 hours before the trip until 2 hours after the trip. A 20% gratuity will be collect at check in for parties of 6 people or more.
Only snacks and beverages are available for purchase in our galley. You are welcome to bring your own food & drink (no glass bottles please).
